As wildlife such as deer and wild boar multiplied rapidly over the past few years, so did the damage they wrought on agricultural produce on Goto islands. According to the research of “Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries”, the damege to agricultural produce from wildlife ammounts to about 200 billion yen per year across Japan. The wildlife also attacked people and caused accidents, resulting in human injury.
